Austin the Mighty Eater

When Austin was nearly 6 months old, Mom and Dad introduced food.

Not very much went in the mouth.

But the hands enjoyed it very much.

Since then, we've gotten to be a very accomplished eater of foods. We have been offered all sorts of fruits and vegetables, as well as fancy stuff like falafel and yogurt.

Sometimes we even manage to get some in the mouth.

But there are still frequent near-misses.

A Very Sleepy Baby

In honor of sleeping through the night in his crib, here are some other places Austin has slept...

In the bassinet at the hospital (this is a yawn, not a cry).

In our car seat (which we have already outgrown).

In Mom's lap.

And in our own crib :)

Guess Who Slept ALL Night Last Night!

This guy! In his own crib and everything! We're thrilled.

We'd be even more thrilled if we got a repeat performance this evening. Not to be ungrateful, but if anyone happens to be taking requests...

Update: He wasn't.

And it seems like a million years since he slept like this:

9 Months!

We are such a big boy today! Look at all the things we can do...

We can stand up and eat the top rail of our crib.

We can feed ourselves (sometimes, if there is not something more fun to do with our food...)

We have 4 teeth!

We dress like someone twice our age. That outfit in the chocolate milk video is for an 18 month old. Mom and Dad are mortified.

We are learning the maths:

Not really... Mom would not let us molest the keyboard as much today, something about this being
the new computer and isn't it nice that it has all the keys and we are such a big boy today that we could probably tear a few off if we felt like it ... those were just the only keys we could reach.
But we did get to make a nice vlog before our morning nap.

The Father's Day Pictures

Who is that big boy having pizza with Daddy?

Happy Grandfather's Day

Because every Grandfather was once a Dad.

Happy Father's Day!

What makes a man a great dad?

It helps to have similar interests... and styles.

They should root for the same side...

It's always good to be a little bit silly.

Or maybe a lot silly.

Dad must be able to use a camera. It's the law.

He should also have a high tolerance for pain.

But most of all, he needs to be sweet.

Like Austin's is. :)

Mom is very impressed that he made an omega.
He also pioneered a new emoticon, the unicornampire:

Or maybe it is a rhinowalrus? You decide!
He has also made his first vlog below! Hope you enjoy!

Sometimes We Has A Sad

And I think it is to Mom's credit that we usually don't stand around taking pictures of the sad.

Usually.

Git Along, Little Doggie

Austin has met big dogs and little dogs.

Austin's Feet

It has been brought to our attention, that Mr. Austin does not wear shoes. Upon reviewing our records, we have discovered that this is true.

Exhibit A:

As you can see, he did not wear shoes in the hospital.

At 9 days old, he is still barefoot. Perhaps it is because his feet are enormous. We have included Dad's thumb for scale.

Sometimes Austin's feet like to dress up. Still no shoes, though.

Austin's feet also make very convincing turkeys.

Sometimes his feet get lost inside the pants. Maybe they are hiding from the shoes.

Austin's feet are very helpful for grabbing things, like Mommy's camera.

And grass.

And they are delicious.
